Blast Off!! is the perfect introduction to the piano and is the prerequisite to further study at Cactus Keys! It is a week long course consisting of five 1 hour lessons. All printed materials are included with the registration fee of $75.00.

Designed for children ages 6 to 17, Blast Off!! teaches the first steps to piano playing readiness: rhythm notes and keyboard geography. By the end of the course students are playing fun songs with accuracy, competence; and most of all, enjoyment!

Boy Blast Off!!, like all classes at Cactus Keys, is taught in groups. Students are placed in small groups with other students their own age. The students learn together, share music together, generate lots of excitement; but most of all they have loads of fun! A group situation takes on a spirit and energy that is impossible to achieve in an individual lesson.

The camaraderie achieved in a group atmosphere also motivates them to go home and practice so that they can return for the next lesson ready to play well with their peers! Students in groups learn extremely quickly by participating with the other students to conquer new skills and songs. Plus, the fear and intimidation that students experience in private lessons is eliminated; every lesson is a performance for their peers, not just a teacher or room full of strangers!

Keep in mind that to be registered for the Blast Off!! you must submit the full tuition payment of $75.00 within 10 days of submitting the registration form, or you will be dropped from the course and will need to re-register.

Weekend Blast Off!! is designed for those who are not able to attend Summer Blast Off!! and are seriously interseted in continuing piano studies in the Year-Long Course. Weekend Blast Off!! will be offered in late August/early September. This course consists of three 75 minute lessons and teaches the same content as the full Blast Off!! sessions in a condensed format. A registration form will be available in late July.

After launching with Blast Off!!, enroll for the Year-Long Course and continue expanding your musical horizons.

In the Year-Long Course students will attend weekly, hour long lessons taught in the same fun group environment as Blast Off!!. They will be introduced to reading notes on the musical staff, music theory and ear training, providing them with a well-rounded musical education.

Blast Off!! is a prerequisite to any further musical studies at Cactus Keys, unless students have studied elsewhere or already have experience playing the piano.

New beginning adults, ages 18 and up, start off with the introductory class Adult Blast Off!! After taking Adult Blast Off!! those who would like to continue may register for Piano 1a.

Adult Blast Off!! is designed to teach the fundamentals of piano in a friendly group setting. Sessions will run two weeks with two, 90 minute long classes weekly.

Adult Blast Off!! is the perfect course to get a start in piano for those that have always wanted to give it a try. No prior piano experience is necessary.

Blast Off!! will provide the learner with a good foundation from which to continue piano studies.

In the first lesson students will learn the various rhythm notes and how to count and play rhythms utilizing them. In each lesson the students will learn the names of a few piano keys and will study pieces incorporating those keys. The class will play many pieces in parts, with a few students per part creating satisfying harmonies. Once the piano keys have been learned, the students will transition into reading musical notes on the staff. More pieces will then be learned with this newly acquired music reading skill.

There will be further classes offered in the Fall so that those who wish can continue to pursue their piano studies.

The cost of the Adult Blast Off!! sessions is $65.00 and includes all materials.

After launching with Adult Blast Off!!, enroll for the Adult Continuing Course and continue expanding your musical horizons.

In the Adult Continuing Course students will attend weekly, hour long lessons taught in the same fun group environment as Weekend Blast Off!!. They will be introduced to reading notes on the musical staff, music theory and ear training, providing them with a well-rounded musical education. This course runs from October through May.

The cost of the Adult Continuing Course is $490.00, payable in monthly installments of $70.00. Course fees for books run $20.00 per book. It is understood that students will go through up to three books in one year. Some course materials will be provided free of charge. Those starting in mid-October will have the $490.00 pro-rated.

Group piano classes are a great way to build a good sense of rhythm and tempo and are a great way to make new friends with shared interests.

Each person owns an instrument unique to only them, the most basic and expressive instrument of all - their voice. In Vocal Class, you will discover the fun involved in raising your voice in song. Each Vocal Class will teach basic singing technique, such as breathing, phrasing and pitch matching. All printed materials are included in the registration fee.
